So here we are sitting in DFW Airport waiting to board our flight to Ireland. And what are we doing? We are eating an Irish meal and drinking Irish adult beverages at Tigin Irish Pub, located in terminal E of the airport. Like we aren’t going to get enough Irish food, Irish pubs, and Irish adult beverages during the next week. On second thought, we can’t ever get enough of the previously listed items, so Slainte Y’all.
Seriously, we are headed to Kenmare, in Country Kerry Ireland for a week of serious house hunting international style. Translation – we will be looking at a whole bushel of houses that we scoped out on-line, but with very limited knowledge about how to navigate the process of actually buying a home. Yes, we have done a lot of internet research on the process. We haven’t just gone off half-cocked. Well, not in regards to this anyway.
This will actually be our third house hunting trip to Ireland in the last three years. On our first trip we weren’t in a position to buy, but we wanted to see what was out there and start trying to figure out both what we were looking for and what the process was. On our second trip we thought we were ready, but decided to hold off for a year based on Paul being activated for active duty military service outside of the country. Finally, we think that this is it. The big one. The trip where we finally find what we are looking for and start through the maze to buy our dream home.
We will be blogging throughout the trip on the houses we are looking at, but for more timely updates friend us on Facebook. We will be posting pictures of the houses we are viewing.
Slan Y’all! (Irish for Happy Trails!)
